Eikenhout buys local first
We have always worked hard in supporting our communities and purchasing hardware, groceries and appliances from local stores. This is the best way to circulate money throughout our community and neighborhoods. Let’s take care of home first.
Michael H. Shuman, who authored the book Going Local said that buying local “does not mean walling off the outside world. It means nurturing locally owned businesses which use local resources sustainably, employ local workers at decent wages and serve primarily local consumers. It means becoming more self-sufficient and less dependent on imports.”
Eikenhout likes helping our neighbors and schools instead of having money being shipped to the national and international corporate coffers for some distant CEO to decide where they will spend their profits.
