How to Design Your Home

DreamcolorAfter several years your home can get dated, tired and worn out.  Change might be knocking at the door.  If this is indeed the time to replace your siding, shutters, windows or roof, what should you do?  No one wants to make a design mistake, so homeowners often go safe by duplicating what they currently have instead of re-designing their home to stay fresh with the housing market.

But now there are ways to see your home re-tooled and re-designed without ever having to spend a dime on remodeling.  Manufacturers have created excellent websites like Mastic’s dreamhome design tool that will allow you to change all the exterior options on a home that looks just like yours.  Want a different trim color?  How about a new roof?  Want a new style of front door?  All of this and much more is possible all on the computer.  Try different options and then print it up.  Let one grow on you and then stop down to Eikenhout to get all the materials to actually make your new design a reality.

certainteedThe second option is a more personal one. These same manufacturers allow you to upload a digital picture for a nominal fee that will allow you to create new designs on your actual home.  Where was this technology when your neighbor put those bright blue shingles on his chartreuse house?  This can be a way to confirm your color choices or to help direct you to the best options available.

The third option is one that our corporate office provides to contractors who purchase their materials from us.  One of our trained professionals from the design service team will walk through these same steps using our computer to help the the contractor or their customer design the perfect home.  It is exciting to see the satisfaction on homeowners faces as they realize they have so much help in creating their dream home.  Eikenhout’s design team along with their contractor can create a remodeled home that reflects the homeowner’s wishes.  Beautiful.  Inspired.  Home.
